Apollo's Hegemony L-DOPA + EGCG is a combination of epigallocatechin gallate from a standardized extract of green tea (Camellia sinensis) leaves and levodopa.
Epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG) is a polyphenolic compound, a derivative of catechin, abundantly found in green tea leaves. EGCG is known for its antioxidant properties. According to research, EGCG may also have positive effects on the cardiovascular system as well as support healthy weight management.
L-DOPA, or levodopa, is a natural amino acid that is a derivative of tyrosine. In the body, L-DOPA acts as a precursor to the synthesis of dopamine. Dopamine belongs to the catecholamines and is an extremely important neurotransmitter of the central nervous system. Levodopa is registered as a drug indicated for the treatment of Parkinson's disease and restless legs syndrome. L-DOPA is also combined with drugs that are inhibitors of an extracerebral aromatic amino acid decarboxylase to increase the bioavailability of levodopa in the brain.
